Boiler Replacement

For boiler replacement call us on 0845 155 1277

If your existing gas boiler is over 10 years old it might be time to think about a boiler replacement.

Older boilers require more maintenance, are more likely to break down (leaving you without hot water and heating) and are likely to be less efficient than modern condensing boilers (condenser boilers).

Replacing a boiler when it has broken down can be costly, and will inconvenience you and your household. Not only can a faulty boiler damage other parts of your central heating system, once it’s broken down you have to find someone you can trust to replace it quickly.

We look after over 2 million customers in the UK and while we get called out for boiler repairs every day, we believe that prevention is often better than cure.

We offer a range of flexible payment options to help you spread the cost of your replacement boiler, to find out more call 0845 155 1277 or click here to fill in our online Arrange a Quote form

Your current boiler could be costing you a small fortune in heating bills, wasting your money and adding to your carbon footprint unnecessarily. In some cases an old gas boiler could be operating at just 60% efficiency compared with 90% efficiency on a modern condensing gas boiler.

In these days of increasing fuel prices (and scarcity of supply) wasting almost 40p in every £1 doesn’t really make financial sense.

A new A rated boiler could save as much as £225 off your heating bills year after year (Source: EST), which quickly pays back the costs of installation, and supplying you with heat and water tailored to your family’s needs.

How to tell if you need to replace your boiler

There are a number of things to look for which may indicate that you need a replacement boiler:

  1. How old is it? If it’s 5 - 10 years old then it’s unlikely to be a condensing boiler, so it’s almost certainly less efficient than a modern boiler. If it’s 10 years old or more then it could be operating at as little as 60% efficiency and be at higher risk of breaking down.
  2. Is it noisier than it used to be? As parts wear out they tend to make more noise and this can be a good indicator of inefficient operation.
  3. Do all your radiators work properly or are you getting cold patches? Generally this is a sign of trapped air in the system, which with a modern, efficient system, you would usually avoid.
  4. Has your heating cost increased out of proportion to the cost of the fuel? This is probably the main indicator of a boiler that needs replacing, as it’s no longer burning fuel as efficiently as it should.
  5. Are all your rooms at the right temperature? Usually when you are replacing the boiler you would upgrade the control system and this would also increase the efficiency.
