Environmental Policy
Eaga Heating Services Limited (trading as Carillion Energy Services) is a successful, fast growing and ambitious organisation driven by firmly rooted social and environmental principles and a track record of delivering lasting social and environmental change, throughout the UK and internationally.
Carillion Energy Services is a family of companies that provide services, products and solutions that address the social, environmental and energy efficiency objectives of Government and the private sector. This policy is a component part of the Carillion Energy Services Hazard Management Framework and should be viewed in conjunction with the Hazard Management (Environmental) Expectations. The purpose of the policy and expectations is to set out how Carillion Energy Services expect all Partners, Divisions, Business Units and Joint Venture partnerships to demonstrate commitment and leadership for Environmental Management.
We operate in a responsible manner ensuring that Environmental Management is effectively embedded in all our business processes by:
- Establishing clear responsibilities, expectations and objectives to improve Environmental performance;
- Directing the Senior Leadership team to continually improve our Environmental Management culture and further embed our (Environmental awareness of) Corporate Social Responsibility;
- Gaining certification to ISO 14001:2004 for the Corporate Environmental Management System
- Creating accountability and transparency through timely and accurate evaluation, report and review of Environmental performance.
In order to prevent pollution and harm to the environment, manage energy and resources responsibly, comply with the law whilst achieving continual improvements and act in a transparent and honest manner, we expect our leaders to:
- Ensure that Environmental Management is one of our highest business priorities, demonstrating commitment to continual improvements in performance;
- Comply with relevant corporate policies, expectations and legal requirements, placing risk management at the centre of all business processes, ensuring that Environmental risks associated with the delivery of activities, products and services are accurately identified, managed and monitored and in particular establish objectives and targets based upon our environmental risks;
- Attain certification to the Environmental Management standard ISO 14001:2004, ensuring that environmental risk management initiatives are clearly linked to our Corporate Social Responsibility programme; Carillion Energy Services has a clear organisation of responsibility and accountability for Environmental Management:
- The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for ensuring that Environmental Management is integrated into our business strategy;
- The Executive Board accepts collective responsibility for Carillion Energy Services Environmental performance and has appointed an Executive Director to report on these matters to the Carillion Energy Services main board;
- Primary responsibility for the implementation of Carillion Energy Services Environmental Management policy including the selection and use of resources, the deployment of energy management methods etc will rest with the Managing Director (DMD) of each Division, DMDs may choose to delegate authorities and establish accountability within individual business units;
- Partners and contractors alike are required to accept responsibility for their individual impact on Carillion Energy Services environmental performance.
- All partners are required to cooperate in the development and implementation of this policy and the supporting framework.
- Chief Executive and Executive Board for annual endorsement;
- Corporate Risk Management on a continual basis;
- Divisions to ensure their compliance and performance. This Policy is made available to:
- All partners through Corporate Induction and inclusion of current version on the intranet and documented management system;
- Business stakeholders (i.e. installers, suppliers etc) via web based portals;
- External interested stakeholders via CarillionEnergy.com
